♡ Lisbon 2015 | Lifestyle/Travel ♡

Hello everyone!
As I mentioned in my previous post, I spent some of my time away in Lisbon with two of my closest friends. We had been planning to go away together for a while, but because of our exams and schoolwork, we ended up being quite last minute with deciding where to go! When my friends mentioned Lisbon, I initially wasn't too keen, it was never a place I imagined me going to. But I'm so glad that I agreed as I had one of the best weeks of my life and I'm so glad I got to spend it with them.

During our time there I took quite a lot of photos during the first few days and have decided to share them here also! I thought it was a massive shame to just have them on an album on Facebook, in which most of the time, people would just have a glance at the photos then scroll on. So why not share them here? Not only can I show the photos in decent quality, but kind of expand the content on this blog; like I mentioned earlier this year! Although, in this blogpost I've avoided sharing certain photos as I want to keep some things personal!

Our journey to Lisbon started on the 24th July! Our plane journey there was only two hours or so, it felt so odd, as after only travelling to America for years now, this trip was so short in comparison. Whilst our plane was in the air I managed to take a few photos.

By the time we got in Lisbon it was starting to get dark as our plane had a short delay, but it was still very hot there! One of my biggest regrets was not taking photos of our apartment, the one we rented for the week was amazing, it was a perfect size for the three of us and felt very home-like. Not to mention we were in a lively area, so as soon as we walked out the door we were greeted with music and a party-atmosphere! On our first night we found ourself exploring, we were surrounded with so many streets which pretty much all looked the same; clubs, apartments and crowds of people! Despite that, we actually found our way through the area pretty well.

Here's a photo of one of the many streets at night, I apologize for the bad quality, I was walking at the time and this photo probably does it any justice, but I guess it's just hard to show or feel the atmosphere unless you're there. Night times were probably one of my favourite aspects of Lisbon. The party atmosphere started in the early hours so we could literally have our tea about 10:00, get ready and chill till about 12.00 and then head out. I also loved the fact that I could wear quite casual clothes and sandals and still feel like I've dressed correctly for the night out. Also there was restaurants everywhere along with clubs, so if you had no plans but wanted to go out for a meal, it wasn't too hard to find a place to eat!

For our first day in Lisbon, we planned to explore, we explored during the night but of course it's a different ambience than what you'd get during the day!

Here are some of the photos during the day, each street was an array of colour, with different coloured buildings and pretty street decorations! The third photo was taken from our balcony, whilst our view was just the building across, it was actually really nice and we had a great view for people watching, as not many people looked up aha!

Close by us was a square, which was another great place for people watching, but actually a really nice place to just sit and talk. On our second night we spent about two hours(?) sat here talking, as boring as that may seem to some, for us it was perfect! There was also a photo machine, so we ended up taking a few photos there! Further down from the square was the sea, it wasn't quite a beach but that kind of made a beach trips a little more exciting!

After walking along the seafront on the first day, we ended up walking in the main centre, it had a few shops, I only ended up buying one item, which was a pair of Culottes from H&M! After checking out a few shops we went to this really nice Ice cream parlour, they had a variety of flavours, I ended up choosing vanilla, tirimasu and caramel! It was a perfect combination and to make things better, the ice cream was shaped like a rose!

Later, we ended up going up a tower which let us see an amazing view of Lisbon! It was actually really high, but really cheap, so if you're ever there make sure to go up here! You can get some really nice photos too!

Me looking very awkward, aha! For some reason I refused to wear my sunglasses so I seem to be squinting in pretty much all my photo!

The next day we travelled to an area called Belem, it was such a pretty area with quite a few monuments. We first went in the Monsatery, if I'm being perfectly honest, despite growing up in Religious schools, I'm actually not a very Religious person. But that aside, there is something about Religious Monuments which are very beautiful!

The third monument we went to, which was probably my favourite was Belem Tower! In the above photo I was actually in one of the turrets (shown in the photo below), it's a shame because you can't see the sea behind me. Despite me looking goofy on this photo, I actually really like it, my friends were telling me I looked too 'posed' in the previous photos so we ended up with this one!

The days following Belem, I didn't take as many photos, well I took photos of me and my friends but some photos, of course, I want to keep personal like I said.

Above are some photos of the beach, we only went twice, but we felt that, that was enough! The beach was very large and quite far away from our apartment, but it was still really nice! We also went later on in the day so it wasn't as hot.

So the last photos shown (thankyou to Libby for letting me use these)  are actually of our Saturday night there. We decided that we'd go to a club called Urban Beach, it wasn't far in the taxi and is honestly the best club I've been to (although I can't say I've been to loads). We ended up staying there till around 7:00am-8:00am. However the only disappointing thing about the club was that there bar staff weren't particularly good? We waited ages getting a drink and they were quite rude! But, I do recommend the place, the had a good selection of music too!

So that's all the photos I have to show you, I know it doesn't seem a lot (I do have more but I picked out my favourites) but thought it was nice to share with you guys.

Anyway, thankyou so much for reading,

Love,
