♡ Life Updates & Changes | The Beauty Banshee ♡

So it's been a while... well four months exactly.
I am really sorry I haven't updated in a while, but so much has been going on lately that I haven't been able to have much free time and when I do I just kind of want to lay there and do nothing. I'm actually two months into my University degree
(Media Make Up, Special Effects and Hairstyling) which honestly takes up so much time; despite me going in twice a week. It's super fun, but so tiring!

Oh and if you've read this far and still not clicked as to whose blog you're reading, then hello!  I'm the Beauty Banshee or as most of you know me as 'Miyuukihime'. I decided, that whilst I was gone, I would go by a new name and change up my blog a little bit. Since I love Horror and Beauty (and am training to be an MUA) I thought, what is better than having a name which suits it. So goodbye Miyuukihime and hello Beauty Banshee - full credit to Robin for helping me choose a name aha.

Also if you've been a fan of my blog now for a while, you'll know that a good portion of what I wrote was sponsored by a company. Whilst I like working with companies, I've not really opened up to people and I feel like it's been repetitive. Not only for readers but for me as well. Even though I will continue to work with companies, I think it's going to be a lot less. I want to blog about me, my clothes, beauty and just other random stuff.
.
If you want to see what I have been up to for the past months then you can check out my  instagram, twitter and Facebook as I've posted quite a lot on there! You can see what make-up looks I've done, my Lum Cosplay and also from when I met Dan & Phil!

Also Christmas is coming soon and since I'll have free time from University and it'll be the New Year, I thought what a perfect time to start up my Youtube! I'm not promising anything because I get nervous about stuff like this, but I'm going to try and force myself to film a few videos. Already I have an 'Everyday Make-up Video', '2015 Favourites' and a 'What I got for Christmas Haul' planned. Plus some character looks listed like Kida, Chel and some others I'm not going to tell you yet! But if you guys have any requests for Character looks, SFX looks or just videos in general then please don't hesitate to leave them below. For those wanting a room tour, I plan on doing one but not for a while as I want to change a few things about my room!

Another point I want to address in this post is that I'm thinking of doing a Horror Review segment on this blog. Horror is one of my biggest loves in life so I thought it may be good to review some films and possibly some series. Let me know what you think and don't forget to leave suggestions for some blog posts you would like to see! ♡

♡ EOS Fay 3 Tone in Violet and Blue | Sponsored Review & GIVEWAWAY ♡

Hello everyone, hope you're well!
So a while back I was asked by the staff at Maplelens if I'd review some of the lenses for them. If you're familiar with lens buying, then you may of heard of Maplelens, but for those who haven't - Maplelens is an online store which specializes in lenses. They have a variety of brands, colours and sizes and offer worldwide shipping.
For my review I was allowed to pick out two pairs of lenses!

(scroll to the end for the giveaway)

The lenses arrived in about a weeks time which I was very impressed with. The vials came in MapleLens boxes, which gave off a professional feel. These boxes were then wrapped in bubblewrap, which I was glad to see as it meant that the vials were protected during shipping. The lenses came with two lens cases (one for each pair) so when ordering from their site, you don't have to worry about buying a separate case. Also, extra points for the super adorable lens cases.

♡ Lisbon 2015 | Lifestyle/Travel ♡

Hello everyone!
As I mentioned in my previous post, I spent some of my time away in Lisbon with two of my closest friends. We had been planning to go away together for a while, but because of our exams and schoolwork, we ended up being quite last minute with deciding where to go! When my friends mentioned Lisbon, I initially wasn't too keen, it was never a place I imagined me going to. But I'm so glad that I agreed as I had one of the best weeks of my life and I'm so glad I got to spend it with them.

During our time there I took quite a lot of photos during the first few days and have decided to share them here also! I thought it was a massive shame to just have them on an album on Facebook, in which most of the time, people would just have a glance at the photos then scroll on. So why not share them here? Not only can I show the photos in decent quality, but kind of expand the content on this blog; like I mentioned earlier this year! Although, in this blogpost I've avoided sharing certain photos as I want to keep some things personal!

Our journey to Lisbon started on the 24th July! Our plane journey there was only two hours or so, it felt so odd, as after only travelling to America for years now, this trip was so short in comparison. Whilst our plane was in the air I managed to take a few photos.

♡ SheIn Stripe Off-shoulder Crop Top & Oversized White Sweater | Sponsored Review ♡

Hello! I hope you're all well!
It's been about two months since I've blogged, but for the past two months I've been quite busy; I had exams, prom, my birthday and then pretty much straight away went away to Lisbon with my two closest friends!
I'm back with a Sponsored review, however I'm hoping to have some other content on here soon, would anyone like me to show my photos from Lisbon?
Anyway, today I'm going to be reviewing a shop you should all be familiar with by now - SheInside. Since I've been away SheInside has now changed to SheIn! It's still the same store, selling  a huge variety of clothes, makeup and accessories and they still offer FREE Shipping!
Like usual, SheIn offered me two items of clothing.

♡ Birmingham MCM 2015 Haul & Gogo Tomago Cosplay ♡

So on the 20th March me, Robyn and our friend Ethan attended Birmingham MCM!
It was our first MCM of this year and I was super excited for it! Like usual I'm going to show you some of our photos from the day and a small haul from the Convention. I've found that the more Coventions I go to, the less photos I take with people? Not because I don't like their Cosplay, but I just like talking to people more!

For this Convention, me and Robyn decided to jump on the bandwagon of Big Hero 6 Cosplays as we had recently seen it and fell in love! Robyn was definite on being Hiro Hamada, but I was unsure whether I wanted to be Gogo Tomago or Honey-Lemon! I went to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to get your guys opinion and it turned out that a lot of people wanted me to be Gogo! I'm still going to Cosplay Honey Lemon, but I decided to start on my Gogo Cosplay straight away as I didn't have much time!

It was quite an easy Cosplay to put together and didn't cost me more than £25.00! As the first Convention of the year I was happy that my first Cosplay was comfy but still recognisable and recent! I was really happy I chose Gogo, I was the only one I saw at the convention, so people
seemed happy to see me.

The day itself was pretty straight forward, got up early (I had to rush a little but I did some make up on the train so it was fine), got two trains and got in the convention! I didn't enjoy it as much at first, but as I got more into the day, it was really good. It was also the first convention I had attended with Ethan, so it was super fun!I'm not going to upload the photos with the other Cosplayers, just incase some are uncomfortable with them being on here!

However, because our train after the Convention was quite late, we had time to get a few photos as Hiro and Gogo! We had some together:

♡ A Guide to Cosplay | Part 1: Introduction and Getting Started ♡

Two years ago I started to Cosplay properly and get more involved in the Cosplaying Community. Ever since, it's played a big role in my life. Quite often I get asks from others asking about different aspects of Cosplaying, whether it's advice or just general questions about the hobby.
One of my New Year's resolutions, along with many others, was to bring more variety into my blog and to get more involved with it. To do more Fashion/ Beauty related and Advice/ Chatty posts instead of just reviews. So that's why I've decided to do this series, which focuses on various aspects of Cosplaying. I'm not entirely sure how many of these blog posts I'm going to have, I'm thinking of three minimum. Not only am I going to answer some of the questions which some of you have asked but take you through each step of Cosplaying; from Preparation to going to Conventions!
So today I bring you the first instalment of this series, in which I'll mainly be introducing you to Cosplaying.

Before I start this though, in no way, shape or form do I think I'm some *fantastic* Cosplayer nor do I think I'm an expert. But as I'm approaching my third year in the community, I feel like I've gained knowledge and have had a good reception from others. Although, whilst giving you guys tips, I'm still learning as well so am open to your advice!

♡ Cinderella M.A.C Collection | 2015 Release + Disney Beauty Collaborations ♡

So if you're a Disney fan, you'll already know that 2015 has some exciting film releases, including Big Hero 6, Into the Woods, Frozen Fever and the live action Cinderella (a live action Beauty and the Beast was also announced last month featuring Emma Watson as well which I couldn't be more happier about!) - I really hope the release more live action Princess movies in the future but for now I'll carry on with this.

Now, if your into Beauty and Disney then M.A.C have an amazing collection coming your way!
The film itself is being released in March and features Downton Abbey's Lily James as Cinderella, but the M.A.C collection itself is being released later this month on M.A.C Cosmetics (for the US anyway).

❄ What I got for Christmas 2014! ❄

image

Hello everyone!
So my second blogpost of this year is actually going to be what I got for Christmas haul, I know it's late, but I still want to do it as I spent ages taking the photos for this ; v ;

From a lot of my family I got money and I've spent quite a bit of that, but I'm probably going to show a lot of the things I bought in a Collective Haul later on this year? as I've still got quite a bit to spend!
Also before I start this haul properly I want to make it clear that I am so grateful for everything I received and am so lucky to have such a generous family!

So if you follow my twitter, you'll know that before Christmas I ordered a Liz Lisa dress! Well that was actually a present off of my grandparents, I've been wanting this particular style of dress for a while and when I found someone else selling it new with tags for a pretty good price, I couldn't resist! The dress fits so cute, it's quite dressy I feel so I haven't had the chance to wear it properly yet, but I can't wait to!

I also made a coordinate with it! The bag was also a gift but off of my parents!

♡ SheInside Pink Lapel Coat | Sponsored Review ♡

image

Hello everyone!
So it seems I haven't blogged at all so far this year, but it's mainly because I've been busy with my Mock Exams and Coursework! But luckily my mocks are over now and even though Coursework is building up, I'm a little less busy!
But before I go ahead and say anything, I hope that you had an amazing Christmas, or to those who don't celebrate it, had a happy holiday. I also wish you a Happy New Year (even though I'm 16 days late) and hope the new year brings you loads of great things!
So today I'm going to bring you the first review of this year and of course, this is from SheInside!
So for those who don't know about this store; SheInside is an online store which sells a huge variety of clothes, makeup and accessories. They also offer FREE Shipping and always have a good offer on!

So this is on sale for $33.98 from $57.98 and comes in Small, Medium and Large. I've been wanting a more formal looking pink coat and this seemed to be perfect! So when I first got this coat I was overly impressed, I was expecting it to be a more 'Blazer-type' material, so was to surprised see that it was thick with lining. The shape to the coat is exactly as pictured in the stock photo, as for the colour I'd say in real life it's definitely a tad bit more vibrant than the stock photo (and mine, apologies for that).
